SROBOT OPEN CONTEST 2017 -2018

  1. Participation
  • Students from high schools, in Ho Chi Minh City and nearby provinces.
  • Contestants register for the SRobot Open Contest in teams. Each school may enter 04 teams in the contest.
  • Each team may have a maximum of 03 team members.
  • There is no limitation on the number of teams in the contest.
  1. Contest time

Qualifying round

  • Feb 3rd, 2018: playing at a high school in Ho Chi Minh City *
  • Feb 4th, 2018: playing at a secondary school in Ho Chi Minh City.

* Organizing Committee (OC) will have official information about contest venues for participating teams at least 10 days before the contest.

Final Round

  • March 18th, 2018: competing at SaigonTech.
  • The questions of qualifying rounds are provided 30 days in advance. The teams that pass qualifying round, will enter final round.
  1. Contest Rules
  • The questions of final round are provided 30 days in advance. Unexpected factors will be provided in the final day. Then, each team has 90 minutes to adjust the source code for the robot to work properly with the new factors of the test.
  • The teams will make code based on the contest questions (programming languages: Pascal, C/C++). Submit the source codes to OC. OC will load the codes into the teams’ robot.
  • Each team uses their own robot and must register this robot to the OC before the contest.

Notes:

  • Using the PCs that the OC provide to adjust the source code, then submit to the OC.
  • The OC will load the submitted code into their own robot to compete.
  • Each team uses one robot for each round.
  • Each team must prepare by themselves their own robot using multidirectional wheel (Omni wheel). Robot must satisfy these requirements:
  • Use three motors with three Omni wheels.
  • Moto’s maximum speed is 360 rpm (at working condition).
  • Omni wheel’s diameter must be 58 mm (± 3mm). This requirement ensures your robot can be used for next year’s competition.
  • Your robot must fit in a 350 mm diameter circle.
  • Other parts: freedom of choice.

Notes: Non-compliant Robot will be disqualified

  • Any team that has the following behaviors during contest will be disqualified:
  • The member(s) of team is different from the initial registration.
  • Using communication equipment during the examination.
  • Discussing with other teams.
  • Receiving external support in any way.
  • Using the source code of another team.
  • Intentionally damage other team’s robots.
  • Using another team’s robots.
  • Not complying with referee’s instruction.
  • Referees are appointed by OC. Competition results and testing results of Robots’ specifications are decided by the referee.
  1. Competition Form

Qualifying round

  • The teams compete in the order arranged by the OC.
  • At each contest venue, OC will select the teams who complete the qualifying round into the final round.

Final round

  • The teams compete in the order arranged by the OC.
  • The teams compete according to the questions of the OC
  • The team has the best performance of the competition will receive prizes. If these teams have the same ranking, the result will be decided through their performance of the extra rounds on the other terrain (without changing the source code and the robots).
  • Any questions and complaints will be resolved by OC

Notes: During the competition, if the robot is damaged (the wheel is loose, the battery is loose, the wire is dropped, etc.), the robot’s performance is the official distance that the robot can go.
